blankspaces coworking in los angelos

A new CoWorking venue in LA called BlankSpaces located in an old bow-truss roofed warehouse. A very cool setting for a workplace. No idea about how they stated up but the space is outfitted with pretty nice contract office furniture.

I have to say that I'm astounded by the launch rate of CoWorking spaces. I think I'm seeing 2 or 3 new spaces per day in my internet travels.

  1. Hi Greg. Thanks for writing about our space here in L.A. I'm a fellow [licensed] architect who stumbled into coworking about 2 years ago.

  2. Hi Jerome - it looks like a great space. Reminds me of the old Eames office building. You should email me - tell me the creation story of the space and I can make another post about it.

  3. That's by far the nicest looking co-working space I've ever seen. Is this what co-working is in LA? Their marketing is crazy professional too. Nice post.

  4. yes, it appears to be better funded than most start up coworking spaces. We'll see if jerome can explain.

There are a lot of office suite rental places that are sort of jumping on the band wagon, promoting as coworking to one crowd, promoting as professional office suites to another crowd. The coworking folks will tell you that community comes first, it should be pretty easy to sniff out the posers from the real thing.

    1. Yes, I raised significantly more $ than a typical coworking space. But then again, I'm an architect who wanted the space to be "architect-y", while most coworking spaces are founded by tech folks whose focus isn't exactly the build out.
We do get the occasional office suite crowd, but I think that's good - they become converts for the coworking/community ethos.
