The Grain Edit blog has brought us another fantastic studio visit to a great creative workspace: the Odopod Design Studio, again in Grain Edit's locale - San Francisco. I've only grabbed a few of the photos from their tour so make sure you click through to Grain Edit for the entire story.
You can see above that they have a bright, open, high ceilinged, former industrial space. I think it makes a great workplace.
The sharp eyes out there will recognize that they are desking on Vitra's Ad Hoc desks. The have put their desks together to form what I'm calling a "Big Table" layout. I'm seeing a lot of this arrangement and we are going to have to drill into that some more.
The desktops look like the Ad Hoc two piece variety that I mentioned in my previous post. That means at least they have had these desk tables for a while. They also appear to be using the old standby Herman Miller Aeron Chair.
Look at that! In studio bicycle parking. I love that!

Are the sitting in Aerons? How do they like them? I've been looking to get one for a while now. I think I'm going to get one from --.com because they can be a little pricey and this place has them a lot cheaper.
ReplyDeleteOoooo Jackie, I'm jealous. I've never heard a complaint about the Aeron. I think it was very well thought out, very well designed, and it spurred a whole industry of copy cats.
ReplyDeleteRemember it comes in 3 sizes! Get the size that fits your stature.
Another great interview with Odopod on Archinect:
